On Saturday the most dazzling outfit and cage will be chosen by the lovely drag queen Xenia, and on Sunday our very own glitter princess Iina Haikka will be choosing the winners. The award ceremony will be held prior to the Best in Show panel on both days.

  • Only a limited number of cardboard barriers to put between cages will be provided. Please bring your own blankets etc to provide your cat with cover from neighbouring cages.

  • No cat litter will be provided at the show venue. Please bring your own cat litter.

  • Vaccination check: Before the show, please make sure your cat’s vaccinations are in order. Cats must be vaccinated according to the show rules of Suomen Kissaliitto, and vaccination certificates will be checked when entering the show hall. For rules and regulations regarding the import of cats to Finland from other EU countries, please refer to Ruokavirasto guidelines. For vaccinations against cat influenza and feline parvovirus, the last possible vaccination date was Friday 4 October 2024 for cats taking part in the show on Saturday. Booster shots and vaccination validity according to the instructions provided by the manufacturer. Vets' notes on vaccination validity shall not exceed the validity provided by the manufacturer. Hearing certificates are required for white cats. All cats taking part in the show must be microchipped. Cats will be directed to the veterinary examination at random.

  • Veterinary control: Sat 8.15–9.45 and Sun 8.00–9.00.
The examination is done by random sample. If your cat does not pass the veterinary check, the cat must be removed from the show venue. If the cat is denied entry due to a possible infectious disease, all other cats from the same household will also be denied entry.

  • Registration: Registration for the show will take place after the vaccination check at a separate registration point. Please keep your cat’s pedigree or vaccination certificate with you as the registration will be done according to the cat’s official name.

  • Show catalogue and cat information: Please check that your cat’s information and possible extra classes are correct in the confirmation letter and in the show catalogue on show day. In case of any corrections, please inform the show secretary by email to show@urk.fi prior to the show and the secretariat during the show. The show catalogue will only be be available to exhibitors as an electronic version apart from preordered catalogues, but there will be a printed copy available for browsing at the venue. The address and password of the show catalogue will be available at the venue on the show day.

  • If your cat is not taking part in the show, please let the show secretary know as soon as possible. For refund of payment, send the vet’s or doctor’s certificate and your bank information by 4 November 2024 to our treasurer by email to rahastonhoitaja@urk.fi.

  • During the show: The show is organised as a normal show, so cats must be present at the show venue until the show closes. There will be a time window after the special classes award ceremony when cats not taking part in the panel will be allowed to leave the show hall. It is of utmost importance that exhibitors exit the venue calmly and quietly so they do not disturb the panel. Please remember to pick up your cat’s diploma before you leave! You can also pick up a rosette for your cat from our rosette table for free with the diploma.

  • You can request a permission to leave early for a justifiable reason in writing only from the show manager before the judging starts. Permission forms can be found at the info desk where they should also be submitted. Please note that your cat is prohibited from taking part in nominations should your request be granted.

  • The judging begins at 10 am on Saturday and 9.15 am on Sunday. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to ensure their cats are on time for judging.

  • There will be special classes on both Saturday and Sunday. The registration period for the special classes has ended. The awards ceremony for the special classes will be held before the panel on both days.

  • The Best in Show panel will be a cageless panel.

  • Cages: The cage size is 65 x 65 x 56 cm, no double cages. If you are bringing your own cage, the minimum size requirements are 50 x 50 x 50 cm. Our welfare officer will make regular rounds to make sure the cats are kept in appropriately sized cages and have food, water and a litter box available to them.

The cages are not numbered, places can be selected freely.

  • Please ensure your cat's safety by securing the cat's cage.

  • We kindly remind all exhibitors that you have one cage spot per cat. Please do not reserve more space for your belongings.

  • There are cleaning and disinfection supplies available at the end of cage rows. Please return them to the same place after usage. Please only empty litter boxes to designated refuse bins, not toilets or waste-paper baskets. There will be buckets for liquids available, so please don’t throw any liquids in the refuse bins.

  • There is a café at the venue for snacks and refreshments. Please note that the consumption of alcohol is prohibited at the venue.
